LIVE WORKSHOP! August 28th, 12-1:30pm PDT

CHANNELING A MANIFESTO

A 90-minute live class on how to craft personal and project manifestos that act like creative rocketfuel for your Dreams and visions

“To be truly free is to have no choice.” — St. Augustine

When I talk about having ruthless clarity, this is what I’m saying.

You’re free from the tyranny of “should I or shouldn’t I?” when you are CRYSTALLINE CLEAR about who you are and what you do.

The next step, the action, the response — it all becomes so obvious that any other option implodes *poof* into a cloud of irrelevance.

Your values, your aims, your objectives, your purpose become laser focused. Not in an uncomfortable and intense hyperfixation way; more like when smokers go through a hypnosis program and suddenly feel totally turned off by the idea of a cigarette.

It’s not about discipline. The temptation simply disappears.

No more competing choices to procrastinate over. Just pure, unadulterated inevitability.

Listen: There’s no one-size-fits-all-problems skeleton key solution when it comes to making and living a life filled to the brim with creative, intuitive work.

But this is the closest thing I’ve found to a conceptual Swiss Army knife — a multi-purpose tool that you can use for the personal and the professional to get clear, get inspired, and get free.

A personal or project manifesto is a conceptual tool that can help you achieve that kind of mental freedom.

Artists, creative and political movements, academics, thought leaders, spiritual practices, sports teams — all types of individuals and institutions use manifestos to clearly define their belief systems.

But I’m a huge fan of developing a personal manifesto (you can read mine here) and individual manifestos for the various projects you bring into the world.

WHEN YOU WRITE A CREATIVE MANIFESTO…

  • Projects begin to materialize out of thin air — that ineffable idea finally becomes… effable. (makes sense, because you've created the container for it to take form)

  • Decision-making gets easier and faster. It becomes very obvious what to do, and what not to do.

  • You stop trying to shove everything into one project or one business idea (whomst amongst us hasn’t considered opening a used bookstore/coffee shop/incense store/pilates studio/late night gluten free pizza speakeasy?) because each has its own clear boundaries and purpose

  • Your work becomes un-rip-offable because you've distinctly articulated how you're different from everyone else

  • You trust in your own authority instead of constantly looking outside yourself for answers

People get stuck because they're overwhelmed — not because they're lazy, professional procrastinators, or uninspired.

In this 90-minute live class, you'll learn to channel manifestos that serve as both personal operating compass and project clarification tool.

We'll cover how to build your spiritual operating system — your personal framework for understanding how you see the world and make meaning.

what you can expect from class…

MANIFESTO AS CREATIVE EXCAVATION

Understand how to "channel" rather than force a manifesto - treating it as discovery rather than creation to remove performance pressure.

PROJECT-SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS

See how to create manifestos for individual projects (books, courses, businesses, websites, Substack newsletters, performances, screenplays, etc.) that prevent scope creep and define clear containers.

THE ANTI-GENERIC APPROACH

Learn why manifestos are naturally oppositional and how to articulate what makes your perspective different without sounding like a moody “I'm not like other guys, I'm a weirdo” asshole.

WHEN in doubt, channel it out TECHNIQUE

Get the exact process Michelle uses with 1:1 clients to help stuck projects "make themselves known."

STUDY CREATIVE MANIFESTOS IN ACTION

I'll walk you through a library of over 50 different manifesto types to help you get inspired to create your own

LIVE MANIFESTO CREATION

We'll work together in real-time to start your manifesto, whether personal or project-specific.

YOU KNOW YOU haVE WHAT IT TAKES TO BRING YOUR IDEAS TO LIFE. BUT…

01

You've been sitting on that project for months (maybe years) because you can't quite articulate what it is or why it matters

02

You keep starting things but struggle to define clear boundaries, so every project becomes a kitchen sink that tries to serve every purpose

03

You make decisions based on what you think you "should" do rather than having your own internal compass for what feels right

04

You find yourself constantly seeking external validation or advice because you don't trust your own judgment about direction

05

Your creative work feels generic or indistinguishable from everyone else's because you haven't defined your unique perspective

06

You have multiple projects and interests but no clear framework for deciding what belongs where

07

You feel scattered and overwhelmed because you're trying to be everything to everyone instead of defining what you stand for

A note from michelle

I became a certified manifesto lover girl the moment my dad introduced me to the John Wooden Pyramid of Success when I was in grade school (we used laminated 12”x18” poster versions as placemats for years lol*).* I’ve been a sucker for a great organizing thesis ever since.

Eight years ago I had a loose idea of something I wanted to make called Holisticism. But, I had no idea what is really wanted to be, so I wrote an “anti-manifesto” (which is just… a manifesto, lol) about what I didn’t want this new project to become.

Over the years, I’ve found time and time again that crafting a manifesto for a project I’m excited about helps me bring to life ideas that’ve been aimlessly floating around in the ol’ dome. I find this process so useful that I assign manifesto-writing to virtually every 1:1 client I work with because I’ve seen first hand how it transforms stuck projects into clear, actionable containers.

Also, it’s FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This class distills the creative manifesto process into 90 minutes.

WHY MANIFESTOS WORK WHEN OTHER APPROACHES FLOP

Unlike vision boards or goal-setting exercises, writing (or… channeling, if ur freaky) a manifesto forces you to define what you're NOT as much as what you are.

They create boundaries, establish your unique angle, and give you permission to be polarizing rather than trying to please everyone. All artist-types know constraints are fertile ground for creativity, and the manifesto process is no different.

Once your manifesto is complete, it becomes your creative and professional north star — something you can reference when you're feeling lost or when opportunities arise that you need to evaluate quickly.

The process and the final product are both uniquely valuable.

CHANNELING A MANIFESTO IS PERFECT FOR YOU IF…

You're a multi-passionate person who struggles with boundaries between different projects and interests

You want to develop your own decision-making framework instead of constantly seeking external validation

You're ready to create containers for your creativity that actually serve you

You have ideas you've been sitting on but can't seem to move forward because they feel unclear

You're tired of your work feeling generic and want to articulate your unique perspective

Your manifesto isn't just a pretty poster for your wall (though it can be that too).

It's the difference between spending three weeks researching whether you should start a podcast or a newsletter, and knowing in five seconds which one serves your actual vision. It's the thing that helps you say no to projects that would scatter your energy and yes to the ones that compound your impact.

When you're juggling multiple creative containers — the book you want to write, the course you're developing, the business you're building - each one gets its own manifesto that defines its boundaries.
